How do I remove the Flash Player icon from my Mac desktop?

I don't want to delete the program, I just want it off my nice clean desktop. If I try to drag it to trash, it wants to uninstall it instead. If I move it to a folder in Finder, the icon is still on my desktop. Help, please.
